Chic Group & CNMI Project
The consolidated collaboration with the Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana born in 2018, starts with the debut of CHIC in the project Fashion Hub during the edition of February 2019. One of the main objectives of the project is to support the international path of rising stars of the Chinese fashion industry and – vice versa – the introduction of promising Italian designers to the Chinese market.
The project promoted in the Chinese area at the Fashion Hub is the Sino-Italian Fashion Town By CHIC Group, an innovative platform located in Xi’an, in which international and local brands have the opportunity to come into contact with a target of Chinese consumers particularly interested in fashion and the new frontiers of creativity.

Both hold at Museo Leonardo Da Vinci in Milano, First and second edition, second one during MFW September 2019, have been static exhibitions of 7 and 8 Chinese designers being protagonists with their creation for the whole fashion week at the Fashion Hub, having the chance to meet buyers, fashion-business relevant people, attend themed workshop, receive an award from one of the institutional partner of CNMI and to benefit of worldwide coverage thanks to the presence of numerous magazines at the organised events. Both the editions gave the opportunity to 2 designers to have their own fashion show at the Hub, showing the collection on the catwalk obtaining great success and attendance.
The third edition has consolidated even more the partnership with CNMI which saw its realization during the health emergency period. CNMI has launched a solidarity initiative “China we are with You”, with the full support of CHIC, allowing China to participate through the creation of a virtual bridge streaming live the major fashion shows of the Fashion Week and broadcasting video messages of encouragement by well-known personalities in the world of fashion addressed to the Chinese people. The initiative has been launched during the opening event evening of the Fashion Hub, hold at Palazzo della Permanente in Milano and featured the only Chinese designer (who lives and works in New York) who was able to physically participate, Han Wen, an emerging young designer who had the honour to open the fashion week with a fashion show.
CHIC therefore adapted its project to the security measures and changed the exhibition into a rotating exhibition of the eight young Chinese designers’ creations accompanied by video interviews recorded by them and the collection look books to allow them to express their voices and remotely be present.
